An introduction to building a website

It’s never been easier to build your own website.  Do you need to understand all the technical stuff?  Well you do not need to be an expert but it is easier if you have a little understanding how it hangs together.

Do not despair all the information you need is held in this ebook that I have developed especailly for beginners

Before you begin work out what you want to put on your website, and roughly how you want it to look.

For your first attempt try and keep it simple.  Spend a little time in the planning; remember that first impressions count and people will judge your business by what is put on your website.  If it looks unprofessional with spelling mistakes etc people will assume your business is unprofessional.

I am going to take you through step by step screen by screen and by the time you reach the end of this document you will know enough to get your first website up a running.

What will you need to build a website?

To get your first website up and running on the internet you will need the following –

  1. A computer
  2. An internet connection
  3. A domain name (that’s the www bit)
  4. Some Web Space
  5. A software package commonly called a “web authoring software”
  6. A software package to load the web pages to the internet commonly call FTP (file transfer protocol)

I am assuming that the first two items on the list you already have.

Don’t worry if you do not know what the next four items are I am going to explain them all to you in this ebook on how to build a website and I am giving it away.

You will also need a slice of dedication and a pinch of concentration.  So let’s begin.
